HOW IT WORKS
each remix has been converted into a very long string of data.
this system analyses this data and uses it to generate different reactions...
first of all the remixes are split into 16 frequency bands and each band is associated to a colour. the principal colours used are:
LOWS >> red - orange - yellow - green - cyan - blue - violet << HIGHS

ROTATOR |
the player that analyses audio-video sync associates a simple graphic element (ROTATOR) to each colour/frequency band and makes them rotate while you listen to the track: the size and colour of each rotator varies according to the intensity of the frequency |
the result is a colourful, moving kalideoscope.which is different for every single track.

BUBBLE |
when you ask to see the Track Colour, you ask the system to analyse the entire remix. it reads all the data and calculates a colour bubble which will be the identifier of each remix.
the bubble is different for each track and was choosen for its transparency which allows us to visualize all the bands of colour and see them simultaneously...
|
so, each track generates a different coloured bubble in which we can see how music has affected the colours... on the basis of the frequencies used, the length of time for which they are used, and the intensity with which they are used, the kaleidoscope and the bubble produce different colours and movements.
THE UNEXPECTED :
you will notice that some of the tracks contain a sort of "black hole" in the middle of the bubble... those tracks were converted again, 3-4 times, but the result was always the same. we deicided to keep this "bug" in the system we didn't really have any choice! at the same time it is something particular to these tracks and adds another colour element to the end result.
DIMENSIONS:
you will also notice that the dimensions of the bubbles are very different.
remember that the tracks are all different in their length, compression, intensity... and this calculation is made on the whole track. it is a result of the analysis of the 16 colours and not an indication of correct or incorrect equalisation. the end result is really different for each remix...for example a track that uses a certain frequency intensely and for a long time creates a bubble with high percentage of the assocaited colour.
LOW FREQUENCIES :
the low and mid-low frequencies are associated also to the cones of the sound system behind, to simulate their movement. THIS IS SIMPLY AN EXPERIMENT, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS. SO TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT IS... IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN TOO LONG TO DO THIS PROJECT ON THE BASIS OF SO CALLED SCIENTIFIC DATA RELATING TO VIBRATIONAL THEORIES... SO...
... fuck science :)
